Most white women don’t realize what Taylor did to Nicki Minaj is how white women talk to many black women every single day. I deal with being interrupted, silenced and ignored all the time. Especially at work. I also deal with people constantly derailing a conversation about race or some other social justice issue. It’s really frustrating because in my mind I’m really trying to explain my perspective but then there are white women constantly trying to prove what I’m saying is wrong, without even letting me finish. taylorswift is literally the worst kind of feminist. She continues to play the pure, innocent sweet white girl who is always the victim. Taylor always plays the victim of someone’s “jabs” or “backlash”. And I love Nicki for calling out the white media while also calling out taylorswift for putting herself into a conversation where her name was not mentioned or even hinted. White women love to assume everything is about them, and if it’s not, they will find a way. Nicki Minaj is right, we’re not always confident but damn we are fucking tired.

Director Denis Villeneuve and screenwriter Eric Heisserer created a fully functioning, visual, alien language. Heisserer, Villeneuve and their teams managed to create a “logogram bible,” which included over a hundred different completely operative logo-grams, seventy-one of which are actually featured in the movie.
The inky circular alien language was created by Montreal artist Martine Bertrand. It is also the artist’s son who created Hannah’s drawings.
